Quand et comment commencer à chausser son enfant ?

When and how to start putting shoes on your child?

A child needs shoes not when he begins to stand but when he begins to walk. And even when he can more or less walk, wearing shoes is not mandatory but necessary when walking outside, for example to avoid injuries or to protect his little feet from heat or cold. If it is cold and he is not walking yet, we can put on him thick socks that are quite wide at the toes or made of leather or wool but which only serve as protection against the cold but not for walking. During the winter or summer they can walk barefoot indoors and wear very flexible barefoot shoes/sneakers with good toe-boxing outside.
Direct contact with the floor allows the child to have better balance and feel the textures on the floor, which is good for proprioception. At home, it is recommended to
Have them walk on different textures. Over time, through walking and strengthening their feet, the child's arch will begin to form. The arch develops around the age of 7 or 8. When the child walks better, they can be given more structured but still lightweight shoes, with a suitable shape and a thin sole. Like the Faroush barefoot sneakers!

A 2008 German study analyzed the movements of children's bare feet. Then walking barefoot was compared to walking in rigid, then flexible shoes. The conclusion was clear: "Soft children's shoes do not alter the natural movement of the feet as much."
